Mega Millions is on a roll as Americans snatch up tickets in advance of Friday's record jackpot
drawing.
Boosted by the ticket sales, the grand prize amount is now a staggering $540-million.
That amounts to a cash payout after taxes of $389.8-million.
That amount could go higher depending on sales that usually jump when the prize grows to this size.
Mega Millions is played in Arkansas and 40 other states, plus Washington, DC and the U.S. Virgin
Islands.
