According to Pulaski County Circuit Court records, Bryce Allen, 47, was acquitted in December 2010 in a 2009 case by reason of mental disease or defect and ordered committed to the State Hospital.
The court documents state that Allen had been charged with battery, terroristic threatening and
resisting arrest in an offense that involved bodily injury to another person or serious damage to
property.
Allen "remains affected by mental disease or defect and is a danger to himself or others," the
December 2010 document stated.
Captain Donald Jones was hit and killed by a car police say was driven by Allen, who is charged with murder in Jones' death.
Allen is also charged with attempted murder in the injury of two others at that accident scene, Fireman Engineer Jason Bowmaster and Police Officer Daniel DiMatteo.
