History Revisits Arkansas: Steam Train Coming to NLR

The whistle stop is part of a community celebration in honor of Union Pacific Railroad's 150th
anniversary.
The steam engine, No. 844, arrives at noon on Friday and will be in town through the next day.
On Saturday, Union Pacific employees will provide guests with rail safety information, coloring
books, special edition Union Pacific Railroad 150th Anniversary pennants and popcorn.
North Little Rock Mayor Patrick Hayes will will serve as honorary engineer and ride aboard No. 844
when it rolls into town. Union Pacific will present Mayor Hayes with a commemorative 150th
Anniversary partner coin.
The train will be parked behind the Union Pacific Service Unit office, at 1000 W. 4th Street.
The Saturday celebration starts at 9AM and ends at 5PM.
