9:45 p.m. Update:
Little Rock voters have approved a measure designed to help improve the city's library system.

Final results showed 87 percent of voters supporting the measure with 13 percent against it.  More than 5,200 people cast their votes.

Only 70 of the town's 71 precincts reported results because no eligible voters lived in precinct 61.

Original Story:
Leaders at the Central Arkansas Library system are asking voters to help them begin a new chapter.

Tuesday, Little Rock voters will decide whether to extend a bond issue first created in 2004 for capitol improvements to the library system.

The system director says your property tax rates would be reduced, you'd just have to keep paying them longer.

The upside though: more than $20 million for the library system they say they'll use to buy more e-books, build a parking deck, and buy land for a new west Little Rock library, among other things.

"We need more resources to keep it growing and this is about the least expensive way I know of to get more resources for the library," said CALS director Bobby Roberts.

At last check, we were unable to find any organized opposition to the bond issue.
