6 Month Anniversary of FEMA Helping Tornado Victims

Thursday, October 12 marks the six-month anniversary of the Presidential disaster declaration for Conway, Cross, Fulton, Greene, Lawrence, Randolph and White counties in Arkansas. The declaration made assistance available to eligible residents and business owners affected by the severe storms and tornadoes that occurred between April 1 and April 3. "FEMA is committed to helping the residents and businesses of Arkansas recover from the damage caused by the severe storms and tornadoes," says Bill Peterson, FEMA Region VI regional director. In the days and weeks after the declaration, some 1,152 people registered for assistance. This resulted in: •
