Stocks Jumping on Housing News

Stocks are skyrocketing in Wall Street trading.

The market is responding to good news about the nation's housing market.

Numbers from the Commerce Department reveal that housing starts and building permits were at an 18-month high in November.

In early afternoon trading, the Dow is up more than 315 points.

The Nasdaq has advanced more than 75 points, while the S&P 500 has tacked on more than 30 points.
