It's a Christmas tradition which begins with the gift of a nutcracker and leads to the land of snow, the land of sweets and a prince.

"The Nutcracker" is beloved by many and this weekend, Ballet Arkansas brings it to life.

Wednesday night, the group had its first dress rehearsal ahead of its big debut Saturday.

Ballet Arkansas' production of "The Nutcracker" joins several professional dancers with dozens of young amateurs from across Arkansas.

"It's always been my dream, says Lauren-Frances Wood, who plays the lead role of Clara, "it's like, I don't even known how to explain it."
