A Morrilton man was killed this morning in a weather-related traffic accident in Brinkley (Monroe County).

It happened in an eastbound lane of Interstate 40 just before 6:30.

Arkansas State Police say Thomas Kerouac, 45, was behind the wheel of a 2002 GMC pickup truck that overturned near the 216 mile marker after crossing an icy overpass.

Troopers say Kerouac was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck.

His two passengers were injured in the accident, State Police said.

Timothy Lindsey, 20, of De Valls Bluff, and John Smallwood, 13, of Clarendon, were taken to a Forrest City hospital. Their conditions are unknown.

Troopers say the passengers were also not wearing seat belts.
