Arkansas Food Bank's Trickle Down Effect

By: Melissa Simas, KARK 4 News
Updated: December 6, 2011

KARK 4's "Week of Giving" is focused on the Arkansas Food Bank, but there are smaller, lesser known entities that benefit directly from what the Food Bank has to offer.

Life Line Baptist Church in Little Rock has had a weekly food pantry for several years. Through Church donations, the food is purchased cheaply from the Arkansas Food Bank, and other distributors. In October, Life Line fed roughly 346 families in Central Arkansas, which translates to over 1,300 people.

Robert Branscomb says he doesn't know what life would be like for him and his family, were it not for Life Line Baptist Church.

"I think God has places this system in society to help those who are in situations such as this," said Robert Branscomb of Little Rock.

The food pantry at Life Line Baptist Church is open every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. It's located at 7601 Baseline Road in Little Rock.
