Arkansas Police Find Mindy & Zander McCready Safe In Closet

By: Tania Francois
Updated: December 3, 2011

The Cleburne County Sheriff's Office says they found missing country star Mindy McCready in what was supposed to be an unoccupied summer home in Heber Springs yesterday. She did not have permission to be there.

Her and her son Zander were hiding in a closet. Zander has been returned safely to his grandparents. He'd last been seen at his father's house Tuesday.

Thirty six year-old McCready is involved in a custody battle after a series of alcohol and substance abuse related arrests. She's not been arrested by Heber Springs police.
