Catholics Attending Mass Less Often

American Catholics appear to be growing less devout about attending Mass.
A new survey from the "National Catholic Reporter" shows church attendance among older, more devout Catholics has fallen 14 points since 1999 to about 50-percent.
Roughly half of all Catholics surveyed say they go to Sunday Mass at least once a month.
Meanwhile, 86-percent of Catholics surveyed say they believe it's possible to disagree with aspects of church teachings while still remaining faithful to the church.
Less than half surveyed say the church's opinion is "very important" on the issues of abortion, same-sex marriage and the death penalty.
Researchers say the growing youth and diversity within the church is a major contributing factor.
