They got close to breaking records at the State Fair this year.

Yesterday was the fourth best final Saturday in the past ten years of the fair. They had over 78,000 people go through the gates.

That brings the total attendance for this year to just over 409,000. This is down almost 13,000 from last year, but people still keep spending to keep revenue up because that's what some of the 300 part-time employees count for extra holiday spending cash.

Ed Davis has been a part-time fair worker for the past 33-years and says, "There's no doubt that this is a tremendous boost to the economy for the community, as well as I know a lot of people that work out here do it for Christmas money. The timing is perfect."

Even though this is the last day, you still have time to go. Gates will be open until 11-o'clock tonight.
