New Senior Center in Little Rock

Updated: January 7, 2009
The Little Rock City Board of Directors approved spending $200,000 for a new Senior Center. It will be built about 10 yards from the existing center in a new, bigger building near the corner of 6th Street and Townsend Street near the airport. City leaders say the members needed more room for crafts and ceramics, a bigger dining room, and more accessable bathrooms. The construction plans call for tearning down the old building, but using the foundation to support the new building. Now that the board has approved the plans, construction should begin soon.
