Updated: September 20, 2011
An Ohio insurance company is offering a first-of-its-kind policy.

Great American Insurance will make sure workers collect at least 50-percent of their incomes if they lose their jobs.

IncomeAssure's benefits would be combined with state unemployment benefits to give professionals a financial cushion while they search for a new job.

The policies are being marketed to people making between 60-thousand and 250-thousand-dollars a year.
