Rolling Hills Mobile Home Park in trouble

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A judge decided today to fine the owner of the Rolling Hills mobile home park $12,000 for failure to restore gas service. The gas company shut off service to the park on January 4th after they found too many leaks. City code enforcement inspectors went to the park to check out the situation, and found code violations at all 111 mobile homes in the park. The problems ranged from rotten porches to bare wires. By the end of the week, the city attorney`s office will file a nuisance abatement lawsuit, which means the owner of the park will have to fix the problems or the city will close the park. Residents say the city needs to work with them because many cannot afford to move out. City leaders say they`re going to do everything possible to fix the problems rather than close the park.
