The Department of Defense confirmed the death of an Arkansas Army National Guard soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
31-year-old Staff Sgt. William Terry Robbins of North Little Rock died February 10 in Taji, Iraq, of non-combat related injuries. Robbins was assigned to the Arkansas Army National Guard`s Headquarters Company, 39th Infantry Brigade in Little Rock.
The National Guard says Staff Sgt. Robbins was assigned to the 39th Brigade Combat Team, but his death was not combat related. The incident is currently under investigation.
Staff Sgt. Robbins grew up in Poplar Bluff, Missouri and moved to Arkansas in 1990. He was an avid outdoorsman and a devoted family man. Robbins is survived by his parents, wife and two children.
