By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Members of "Last Chance for Animals" are celebrating today. Their undercover investigation combined with 15 years worth of work and research has helped put a class b animal dealer out of business. Such dealers sell dogs and cats to hospitals and labs for research. "Last Chance" helped prove that C.C. Baird and his family were stealing pets to sell and abusing them before they were shipped off for research. The undercover video shows dogs being shot, slapped and dragged. In addition to to Baird, his wife and his two daughters permanently losing their dealer licenses, Baird has been fined the largest amount ever levied by the U-S-D-A, almost 263 thousand dollars. All that`s come from civil charges. A federal criminal indictment is in the works.
