Legislator Wants To Repeal Law That Makes Schools Calculate Student`s BMI

A state Senator wants to repeal a law that requires that body mass index be calculated for public school children in Arkansas. The bill was filed Monday. SB166 would repeal the requirement that body mass index be incl uded in the students` health reports. The requirement is part of Gov. Mike Huckabee`s Healthy Arkansas Initiative and was approved by the Legislature in 2003.
