Ross Won`t Run For Governor Of Arkansas

US Representative Mike Ross has told his staff that he will not seek the Democratic nomination for governor in 2006. A spokesperson for the congressman says after he told his staff he called Attorney General Mike Beebe to pledge his support to Beebe if the AG chooses to run for governor himself. Ross says his appointment to the House Energy and Commerce committee, as well as his new position as Whip of the Blue Dog Coalition, as reasons why he decided not to run. The Blue Dog Coalition is a group of conservative Democratic congressmen.
