Alltel buying Georgia cellular company

Alltel is expected to add customers in Alabama and Georgia in early 2005. The Little Rock-based company has agreed to purchase certain wireless assets and properties from Public Service Cellular, Inc of Reynolds, GA, according to a press release from ALLTEL. Terms of the deal have not been released. ALLTEL provides wireless, local telephone, long-distance, Internet and high-speed data services to residential and business customers in 26 states.
