Another Soldier From The 39th Dies In Combat

A Connecticut soldier from Arkansas` 39th Infantry Brigade has been killed in a roadside bombing near Taji, Iraq. Specialist Robert Hoyt of Ashford, Connecticut, died from injuries sustained when truck rolled over him as he crouched in the road after the Saturday blast. He was 21 years old. The bomb detonated beneath Hoyt`s humvee. The blast blew an armored door off and threw him to the road. Hoyt`s platoon was escorting tractor-trailer trucks loaded with confiscated Iraqi ammunition from Camp Taji to another base for destruction. Hoyt`s death brings to 24 the number of soldiers from the 39th killed in Iraq. The 39th includes more than 3,000 Arkansans and has about 1,000 soldiers from other states.
