Updated: January 7, 2009
A ten-year-old boy ran a furniture delivery truck off Interstate 630 in Little Rock after a low-speed chase. Police say the boy has emotional problems and stole the truck after he fled from a stopped school bus yesterday morning. A motorist on his way to work noticed the driver of the truck looked far too young, and he called police. The motorist reported truck wasn`t speeding, but it was weaving. A state trooper followed the truck, which went off the highway into some mud where it became stuck. Speeds reached no more than 40 miles per hour. The trooper had to break a window on the cab to get the frightened boy out. The child had some scratches but was otherwise O-K. The bus was taking the boy to a facility that provides behavioral health services for children and their families.
