City Moves To Shut Down Nightclub

Updated: January 7, 2009
The Palace doors may soon be closing. City managers have filed an injunction to close down the nightclub after repeated acts of violence. "If the owners won`t take responsibility and clean up their act, then we`re going to take every aggressive act to shut them down," said Mayor Jim Dailey. Police records show at least 80 criminal acts happened at the nightclub over the past two years. On Sunday, a North Little Rock man was shot and killed. Dailey says the owners of the Palace wouldn`t work with city leaders and police to curb crime, so the city has no other choice, but to shut them down. Calls to the Palace weren`t returned.
