Howard County Judge Disciplined

Updated: January 7, 2009
A district judge serving the city of Nashville in Howard County has been given a letter of admonishment for letting his law license lapse. The state panel that disciplines judges announced Wednesday that District Judge Edwin J. Alford was cited for failure to pay his annual attorney license fees, and the delinquent payment resulted in a suspension of Alford`s law license. As a result, he was not an attorney in good standing from March first to June fourth. The Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission said the lapse was a violation of Arkansas Supreme Court rules that require judges to be licensed and in good standing. Alford has been in office since 1995.
