Jury selection is to begin Tuesday in Pine Bluff in the trial of a man accused of a 1996 slaying. Cleveland Johnson is charged with first-degree murder for the death of Danny Smith. Johnson was charged last year and has pleaded innocent. Smith`s body was found in a vehicle on December 28th, 1996. Jefferson County Prosecutor Steve Dalrymple says police worked on the case for years, and finally had enough evidence so that charges could be filed. An eyewitness in the case died in a house fire before the charges could be brought.
