Hot Springs Has Luck With Amnesty Program For Past-Due Fines

188 people used a weeklong amnesty program to avoid possible arrest for past-due fines in Hot Springs. Hot Springs District Court issued the amnesty offer so violators would pay at least 25 percent of what they owed and made arrangements to pay the rest. District Court Administrator Jason Lawrence said $20,000 more than the normal fine collections were brought in last week because of the program.
