Jonesboro Elects New Mayor

Voters in Jonesboro elected police Sergeant Doug Formon mayor today. According to unofficial results, Forman had 62 percent of the vote and business manager Dan Pierce had 38 percent. Jonesboro Mayor Hubert Brodell didn`t seek re-election, after 18 years in office. Forman and Pierce emerged as the top two finishers in a seven-candidate field from the November 2nd general election.
