Missing Grant Money in Hope

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Federal authorities are working to find out what happened to ten-thousand dollars in grant money given to the city of Hope to help improve traffic safety. Hope Police Chief J-R Wilson says the money was paid to an individual rather than going to the city finance department. The money was supposed to be used to pay overtime to police. The extra patrols were to combat drunken driving and encourage the use of seat belts and child safety restraints. Wilson says authorities are working to get the money back, and that the F-B-I is handling the case.
