The pastor of the First Baptist Church of Lavaca will serve another one-year term as president of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. The Reverend Grant Ethridge was elected Wednesday to a second term at the head of the group. The organization is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, the nation`s largest Protestant denomination. Ethridge says the state group`s meeting did not include controversial issues that might have split delegates. The Reverend LeRoy Wagner, pastor of Pearcy Baptist Church, was re-elected to a second term as first vice president. The Reverend Larry White, pastor of First Baptist Church at Crossett, was re-elected as second vice president.
