A well known Little Rock businessman who ran an investment firm has died while on vacation in Ixtapa, Mexico. Family friends say 42-year old Larry Waschka died Friday after being caught in an undertow while swimming. Waschka ran Waschka Capital Investments, which managed more than 100 million dollars. He had appeared on local and national television and authored or co-authored financial advice books including "Top 10 stocks that could change the world" and "The Complete Idiot`s guide to getting rich." He also developed a small lake near Bald Knob now known as Lake Waschka. It was there he would host and participate in waterskiing and wakeboarding competitions and invite friends and family for weekend fun. Larry leaves behind his wife of just over one year Jessica Dolan Waschka. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at St. James United Methodist Church in Little Rock.
