October Was Wet, But Was Not A Record

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
October was very, very wet in Arkansas, but we don`t have a new record. The National Weather Service says the rainfall total for the month in the Little Rock area was 11.46 inches -- not as much as the 14.03inches recorded there in 1984. Over the past 30 years, normal October rainfall for central Arkansas is 3.81 inches. If the month had 32 days -- or a storm system had moved more quickly -- some records might have been set since October ended during a storm system. October`s rainfall totals were the second-most ever recorded in several parts of the state, the weather service said, but not a record anywhere.
