Arkansas Secretary of State Charlie Daniels says the final count for registered voters this year is 1,696,277. That total includes more than 170,000 people who filed new voter registrations since the start of the year. In a survey done by The Associated Press while the early voting polls were still open on Monday, county clerks statewide said 274,409 Arkansans had cast ballots. That balloting began with the start of early voting on October 18th. Thirty county clerks had absentee ballots counted, too, for another 15,880 votes. Daniels predicts 70 percent of registered voters will cast ballots today. That means 900,000 Arkansans will be at the polls today and that a total of 1.2 million people will vote.
