Gas Line Explodes In West Little Rock

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Firefighters have knocked out the flames where a high-pressure natural gas line was punctured and caught fire this morning at a west Little Rock intersection. Crews still have to cut the supply of gas leading to the break. Firefighters used several hoses to keep a large volume of water pumping on the site of the break. Authorities say a construction crew apparently broke the line, causing it to ignite. The line blew at about 8:30 a.m. No injuries were reported, but the busy intersection of Shackelford and Rodney Parham is blocked and traffic remains at a standstill.
