Pulaski County murder trial getting underway

The trial for Michael MacKool begins at the Pulaski County Courthouse. He`s charged with capital murder in the stabbing death of his ex-wife`s mother. MacKool is accused in the stabbing death of his 58-year-old
mother-in-law, Janie Ballard in Little Rock. MacKool`s ex-wife, Leslie Ballard was convicted of capital
murder on May 28th and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Prosecutors say they will also waive the death penalty for Michael MacKool. The couple were divorced in June. Police said Janie Ballard was stabbed 70 times at her home on September 12th, 2003.
Prosecutors say Leslie Ballard may testify at her ex-husband`s trial.
