breaking news
The Mid-America Science Museum in Hot
Springs is working to turn around its finances, but it also has to make a number of repairs. An engineering and architectural review of the museum found safety problems and noted that sections of the buildings do not comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission runs the museum and has formed a task force to recommend changes. The commission an architect to estimate costs for various
improvements. The museum, affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution, opened in 1979. It offers interactive exhibits for all ages on principles
of science such as motion, erosion and static electricity. The commission took it over in 1981. Last year 89-thousand-440 visitors came to the museum.
