Updated: January 7, 2009
Two tornados cut a swath through central Arkansas yesterday. At least 11 people in Saline and Pulaski counties were injured when the storm line moved through the state. The National Weather Service has rated a tornado that touched down at Sardis as an F-2 on the Fujita Scale and one at Haskell an F-1. About 75-hundred Arkansans were left without electricity because of the storms. More than 100 homes and businesses were damaged. Governor Mike Huckabee has requested the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management to begin surveying the damage to determine what state resources are needed.
