Case Against Bryant Fire Chief Dismissed

Updated: January 7, 2009
After two days of testimony, the felony theft charge against Bryant Fire Chief Randy Cox was dismissed. This was the first time in his six years on the bench that Judge Grisham Phillips took a case out of a jury`s hands to issue a direct ruling. Prosecuting Attorney Robert Herzfeld says he stands behind the work of his team and calls into question the judge`s decision to dismiss the case instead of leaving it up to the jury. Defense attorney Sam Perroni says the judge`s rare move is one of the most courageous actions he`s witnessed in his thirty years as an attorney.
