ACLU files lawsuit against Faulkner County Detention Center

The American Civil Liberties Union is suing the Faulkner County Detention Center for not testing prisoners for tuberculosis. The ACLU of Arkansas originally filed a suit in U-S District Court alleging that the jail holds nearly twice its capacity. The filing July 19th said that the jail was originally designed to hold 121 people, but the July Sixth jail roster showed 210 prisoners. Late Thursday, the group added allegations that the detention center is endangering the health of its prisoners and the public by not performing T.B. tests. The ACLU wants the court to order the jail to conduct T.B. tests.
