Bond has been set at one million dollars for an Arkansas man charged with capital murder in the death of his girlfriend`s 13-month-old child. Donald Brannon of Mabelvale, Arkansas, was charged with killing Bobby Stegall. The child died August 17th of head injuries that Lee County Coroner Carolyn Gillentine said were consistent with shaking abuse. Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty for the 21-year-old Arkansas man. No charges are being filed against the child`s mother, Pamela Stegall of Tupelo. Brannon was transferred to the Pulaski County, Arkansas, Sheriff`s Department after his arrest due to prior, unrelated drug charges. He was returned to Lee County after his drug charges were heard. Autopsy reports show the child`s death was caused by massive blunt-force trauma to the back of the head. The child also had two broken legs.
