Red Cross Ask Public For Help

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The American Red Cross is asking the public for help with Florida`s relief efforts. The hurricane-ravaged state received $68 million in aid from the Red Cross. That doesn`t include damage caused by Ivan. "We are taxed to the max," said Alan Gibson, a spokesman for the Red Cross. Workers served 8 million meals to the 350,000 residents displaced by the storms. They were also given shelter. Some of those workers, who just returned to Arkansas, are headed back to administer aid expected from Hurricane Jeanne. If you`d like to donate cash to the Red Cross hurricane relief efforts, call (800)HELP-NOW.
