The list is growing for the number of
anti-abortion groups that want to see a lawsuit challenging
Arkansas` "Choose Life" license plates.
Tamara Brackett of Fayetteville filed suit against the state
last year on grounds that she could not buy a plate that advocates
her stance in favor of legal abortion. She says the state opened
the license plate forum to one viewpoint alone -- the view of
anti-abortion groups. She also alleges she and others interested in
obtaining a specialty "Pro Choice" plate, or one with similar
wording, can`t do so in Arkansas.
The most recent anti-abortion groups to intervene are Hannah
Medical Center of El Dorado and Life Choices Incorporated. of
Conway, both of which are crisis pregnancy centers. Hannah director
Debora Griffin and Rose Mimms, executive director of Little
Rock-based Arkansas Right to Life are also intervening.
