Hurricanes Causing Big Business For One Arkansas Company

Baldor Incorporated of Fort Smith reports a huge surge in its generator business as a result of the three back-to-back-to-back hurricanes that hit Florida and other parts of the Southeast. Baldor says hurricanes Charley, Frances and Ivan generated about One (m) million dollars in additional generator sales in the past six weeks. Baldor sold more than One thousand generators because of the hurricanes and says buyers include homeowners and repair crews who are working while electric lines are down. Thirty-two Baldor warehouses have emptied. A sales manager says it`s the largest increase in generator sales since Hurricane Andrew in 1992.
