breaking news
Not all Ivan refugees made it into hotel rooms this week, some are having better luck bunking with friends and family.
Little Rock Pastor R.J. Hampton opened his home to long-time friend Dan Vincent, from New Orleans.
Vincent and his family of 12 spent 17 hours on the road driving up to New Orleans, in a trip that is usually 7-8 hours.
The Vincents say in their 35 years of marriage, they`ve lost their home three times to hurricanes and floods.
"I didn`t figure out how I would do it, but I knew it needed to be done and I felt that we`d find a way to do it," said Hampton.
"Everything we hold sacred is in this room with us," said Vincent. "Nothing that we left in New Orleans cannot be replaced."
Anyone needing help searching for an availble hotel room can contact Kelly Warner at the Visitor Center at 501-370-3290. It is located at 615 E. Capitol Ave. The center will provide hotel information through next Tuesday, the 21st.
