Alumna Makes $177,000 Gift For Scholarships

University of Arkansas alumna Mary M. Maxson has committed 177 thousand dollars to established a pair of endowed scholarships at the school`s Honors College. The gift will fund scholarships in journalism and business. A portion of the gift will also go to the Carnall Hall Alumni Scholarship Fund. Maxson is a 1954 graduate of the university`s business college and her husband is a university journalism graduate. A portion of the gift will be matched with funds from the Walton Family Charitable Support Foundation`s 300 million dollar gift to the school.
