Three years after the September 11th attacks, heightened security at government buildings and airports are still in place.
The state Capitol building shut down all exits, allowing card access only to employees and authorized personell. Similar measures are in place at the Federal Courthouse.
"Before 9/11, anybody in the public could have total access to the building," says Chief Darrell Hedden, with the Arkansas State Capitol Police.
"But now, this is just the way we`re going to have to live from now on," he said."
Little Rock National also tightened security measures, until the federal government took over screening at the nation`s 450 airports. Air traffic out of Little Rock fell by more than 400-thousand passengers.
