Tyson Foods offers hurricane relief

Updated: January 7, 2009
Tyson Foods says it has contributed to the hurricane relief effort in Florida by shipping enough chicken to help feed almost half a million people. Over the past two weeks the company has donated more than 110-thousand pounds of pre-cooked chicken to help feed families, relief workers and others affected by the recent hurricanes. John Tyson, chairman and C-E-O of Tyson Foods, says the donation is one way the company can help some of the many people whose lives have been disrupted by the storms. Hurricane Charlie and Hurricane Frances have taken a toll on Florida and the state is now bracing for Hurricane Ivan.
