breaking news
One phase of work on Interstate 30 in
southwest Little Rock will be completed this week.
The state Highway and Transportation Department says the new
Baseline Road underpass will open, and the adjacent frontage road
will convert to one-way operation. All work will be done as weather
permits.
The two-way road south of I-30 between Baseline Road and
Mabelvale Pike was not changed to one-way when most of the I-30
frontage roads were converted in 2002. But now that Baseline Road
is reconnected, the two-way road is not needed. Stop signs will
manage traffic flow until signals on both sides of the intersection
are operational.
The new underpass is expected to improve traffic flow, safety
and convenience.
