A Jonesboro child was killed Tuesday afternoon after being struck by a school bus as classes were being dismissed at South Elementary School. The name of the victim is not yet being released. Witnesses said the accident happened around 3:00 pm when the boy darted in front of the bus on a bicycle as the bus was pulling up in front of the school on Rosemond Avenue. The school went into lockdown for 35 minutes after the accident. Parents were later allowed to pick their children up at the back of the school.
