Hundreds of people gathered to finally say goodbye to Patricia Miles. The 7-year old disappeared almost two weeks ago from Gilmore in Crittenden County. Her body was found five days later in a soybean field in nearby Mississippi County. Those horrific two weeks came to an end for her family Saturday afternoon. Patricia`s story gained so much attention that people who didn`t even know her came to pay their respects and lend their support. "[It is] devastating for someone to do a child like that," said Tameka Dallas. "When I heard it my heart just went out, to just imagine what they`re going through," she said of the family. Dallas said she has a relative who knows Patricia`s family. Family members say today, Patricia is remembered as their ray of sunshine. At her daycare, she was the Little Zion Prom Queen, even at such a young age. But she was old enough to say that she wanted to grow up and become a teacher to help other children learn to read. Saturday`s services were held at the Beautiful Zion Baptist Church, where Patricia attended preschool and day care. She is buried at the Paradise Gardens cemetery in Edmonson. Her adoptive parents, Vickie and Reginald Robertson, say they still plan to start a memorial fund in Patricia`s name to fund projects for children in the area. Patricia`s former babysitter and family friend Jo Ann Buchanan has been charged in Patricia`s kidnapping. No word yet on when that charge could be upgraded.
