Herzfeld To Run For Attorney General

Saline County Prosecutor Robert Herzfeld said today that he expects to run for attorney general in 2006 if the man in the position now, Mike Beebe runs for governor.
Herzfeld said he organizing toward that goal and fully expects to be a candidate in 2006, provided Mike Beebe is not running for attorney general.
The Democrat said that he has talked about his plans with Beebe
and has received the attorney general`s support, although Herzfeld
couldn`t say whether Beebe would definitely run for governor.
He said the two main things keeping him from declaring his official candidacy are Beebe`s decision Herzfeld said he would never run against Beebe and that the race is still two years away.
Beebe`s office repeated Beebe`s earlier statement that he wants
to focus on his current job and leave political decisions for a later time.
